Since 1968, The Storage Equipment Manufacturers’ Association (SEMA) has been a leading authority on the design, supply, installation and maintenance of storage equipment. Founded with a commitment to promoting the highest standards of quality, safety, and reliability in the storage equipment industry, SEMA brings together manufacturers, suppliers, installers, and inspectors who are dedicated to excellence.

SEMA Membership is formed by industry leading experts and companies who want to raise quality and safety standards within the industry. The work of SEMA covers the lifetime of your equipment and our guidance provides a framework for safe storage systems. Everything starts with industry leading guidance developed by our Technical Committee. Through SEMA, the work of our member interrelates to cover the design, manufacture and supply of storage equipment. Everything we do is backed up with SEMA’s training, installation and inspection initiatives. manufacturing, associate members, suppliers and installers or storage equipment.

We don’t just believe that our members are the best, we also want to prove it. That’s why we independently assess all products and services supplied by our members. This provides you with assurances their storage equipment delivers on current quality, safety and reliability standards for the industry.

Training

At SEMA, we deliver a range of training courses that support you over the lifetime of your racking. Our dedicated training centre in Burntwood offers facilities for both classroom learning and practical racking construction. Our training courses are approved by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), and we have been awarded ISO 9001:2015 certification for our member support and industry-related training course development and delivery.

Our courses include: Rack Safety Awareness for warehouse staff, SEIRS for installers, managers and supervisors and SARI training for inspectors.Rack

Certification

SEMA are accredited by Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA). Most of our training courses have RoSPA approval, which means they are formally recognised by a key, independent health and safety organisation. RoSPA offer their approval of training provider’s courses, such as those delivered by High-Speed Training, depending on whether the course passes their thorough assessment process.

SEMA is also IS09001 certified. The internationally recognised Quality Management standard has been awarded for their support to members and customers, including handling technical queries and developing and delivering industry-related training courses.
