SEIRS Training
SEIRS Training
The HSE expects warehouse owners to check the competence of their installers, ensuring they are qualified for the installation work and know how to work safely. When you consider that even the smallest deviation from design intent can affect the integrity of the system, the need for a qualified person to install racking becomes crucial. Yet, in an industry where most installers still ‘learn on the job’, how can warehouse owners prove the skills of their installer. This is where training for pallet racking installers can help.To provide a benchmark for the industry, SEMA set up the Storage Equipment Installers Registration Scheme, also known as SEIRS. We established this national registration scheme in consultation with the HSE to improve safety standards at the point of installation. The industry recognises it as a best practice example of self-regulation.Installers who have attended a SEIRS course can prove they have undertaken training for installing pallet racking and meet the highest industry standards and codes of practice.SEIRS rigorously trains pallet racking installers on correct installation methods in accordance with SEMA Standards and Codes of Practice. We offer five courses for installers that build into a solid foundation that covers industry-specific issues, Health & Safety, practical instruction on installing storage equipment, and a rigorous assessment process.

SEIRS CSCS
If your racking project is on a construction site, managers may require installers to hold a CSCS card. Racking installations are a specialised skill and SEIRS works with CSCS as one of their Partner Card Schemes. Installers can gain their CSCS card by undertaking the SEIRS card in the usual way if they have first passed the CITB Health, Safety and Environment Test. Here's a Quick Breakdown of the Courses:
To achieve a full SEIRS card, installers must attend two courses:
