How SEMA Supports Businesses

How SEMA Supports Businesses

It’s easy to take the storage equipment in your warehouse for granted. Yet, you must design, manufacture, install and maintain that steel structure in your warehouse correctly at every stage throughout its lifetime for it to perform safely and as intended. Neglect looking after your SEMA racking and can result in serious injury, investigation from the HSE and additional costs.

For owners of storage equipment, knowing how to find the correct information for your system can be confusing. That is why through the work of the SEMA Management and Technical Committee we have created a library of documents which will help to guide you and ensure you tick the boxes when meeting HSE Health and Safety requirements. Our SEMA Members also actively work to help you mitigate risk with each contributing to a central repository of intelligence. This leads to continual improvement which is shared appropriately among the membership.

On this page, there are links to publications, information regarding the use of load notices, and frequently asked questions. In addition, we have a technical support area and a growing list of technical frequently asked questions. SEMA’s technical guidance includes Codes of Practice, product standardisation and Load Notices outline the responsibilities of designers, suppliers, and end-users.

As a leading voice within the storage equipment market, SEMA’s guidance and advice heavily influence racking industry standards and we have built key partnerships with BMHF, FEM, CSCS, and HSE
