Code of Practice for the Design of Low Rise Static Steel Shelving (1994) – PDF only

This code of practice refers to hand loaded shelving made generally from cold or hot formed steel. The application is restricted to installations less than 3600mm high with height/depth ratios not exceeding 6:1. It applies to hand loaded shelving in single tier construction made from cold formed or hot rolled steel with bolted and adjustable shelving and also covers :-

a) the use of cold formed, thin gauge multiple holed sections which are common to the industry today and for which there are no alternative national standards which are totally applicable; and

b) and the use of proprietary components etc., to transmit forces between shelves and uprights.
