Where is SEMA based?
SEMA is based in Burntwood, Staffordshire. The headquarters have both administrative and training facilities.
Are there disabled access facilities at the SEMA offices?
There is a dedicated disabled parking bay at the front of the building and all training facilities are on the ground floor, which also includes a disabled toilet.
Who owns and manages SEMA?
SEMA is a limited company, managed by a team of representatives from within the industry. These representatives work or have worked in businesses well known throughout the racking and warehouse industry and take the roles of giving direction in the way SEMA operates. There are two full time team members and two part time team members employed by SEMA who administer all the processes of membership and training. Our trainers are all ‘freelance’ with years of competent experience in the racking industry.

How much does it cost to join SEMA?

Do I need to pay VAT on SEMA membership fees?
VAT is added to SEMA membership fees.
Can overseas companies become SEMA members?
Overseas manufacturers, distributors and installers may apply to join the various membership types.
Can I join SEMA as an individual?
Individuals can be certified as SEMA Approved Racking Inspector, SARI.
Do I need to submit my SEMA joining fee with my application?
SEMA application forms and fees should be sent together.

What are the benefits of becoming a SEMA member?
Principally the recognition your company as a part of the UK storage equipment manufacturers industry association. Companies accredited are obliged to follow the processes and procedures, determined by SEMA to deliver a quality product or installation in a safe manner.

How does SEMA manage the information I give them?
SEMA has numerous controls over data protection and follows the guidelines set out in the General Data Protection Regulation GDPR
Do you offer choices for lunch when on a SEMA training course?
When booking on a SEMA course you are invited to advise on food requirements and specific dietary needs. Our local caterer can meet most dietary requirements – vegan, gluten free, no dairy etc.
